Looking Back At Me

"Looking Back At Me" is a hand-woven tapestry that delves into the transitory experience and the connection with the environment through personal myth-making. In ancient cultures, it is believed that donning a mask directly links a person to the spirit force of the mask. By wearing a mask, one crosses the threshold of ordinary reality and gently merges with the perceived. While emphasizing perception, these tapestries act as doorways, alluding to a shift in perception as an entry into an alternative state of mind and symbolically merging with the Icelandic land.
