Entrances

"Entrances" is a hand-woven tapestry that explores the transitory experience and a connection with environment through a personal myth-making. In ancient cultures it is considered that a person who wears the mask is in direct association with the mask’s spirit force. By wearing a mask one passes the threshold of ordinary reality and gently merges with the perceived. While focusing on perception, this tapestry serves as a doorway, referencing perception change as an entrance to an alternative state of mind and the symbolic merging with the surrounding Icelandic land.
